about
In 2012, on the way to a football match, early on a sunday morning, black ice painted the roads. This song tells little of the day of a car accident, the loss of a father, and some of the feelings round the situation.
This song is in the memory of the late Jeremy Dee, who died on the 18th of November 2012.
All proceeds from sales of the track are going to be donated to the Irish Road Victims Association.
lyrics
It's 9am when we move out
The sun is shining but there's ice all around
It's just a day like any other
But things will change, just as we would discover
It's not long till your spark goes out
I look around there's strangers all about
They ask my name and where I'm from,
My date of birth, the paramedics won't be long.
But it's still so hard.
So I'll show my heart.
Chorus.
That I miss you, yeah I love you,
And I can't see you anymore
no it's not fair my feelings were not spare
its you I want knocking at my door
The hospital said you won't be fine
They told us all it's just a matter of time
my heart it broke split in two
I just wish I could have said goodbye to you
Now I know our gone
But it's still so hard
So I'll write this song
And I'll show my heart
Chorus.
Dad I miss you, yeah I love you,
And I can't see you anymore
no it's not fair my feelings were not spare
It's you I want knocking at my door
And my own time is running out,
I wish I could have had you around
I was helpless, what could I do
A little girl I was lost without you
Now I know our gone
But it's still so hard
So I'll write this song
And I'll show my heart
Chorus.
Dad I miss you, yeah I love you,
And I can't see you anymore
no it's not fair my feelings were not spare
It's you I want knocking at my door x2
